Every 99 years, this region is flooded with a viscous, reddish-brown liquid smelling of warm copper and formaldehyde. It remains for 99 days, saturating low-lying areas and turning hills into islands. After, it seeps away, leaving all it touched stained and soaked. Life exposed to this shock must adapt or die. All creatures native to this area expose some connection to these inundations.
