You feel that the bottom of the pit is deeper than the sea that surrounds it. You can almost hear the churning weight of it above you, like stormclouds in a sky far beneath the true sky.

The chamber is a wide, asymmetrical dome with a cracked ceiling through which drips the gray-white mire that has inundated the lowermost depths of this cave. In the absence of other light, the liquid glows infinitesimally. Its slow churn pulls at any who tread in it. Some places are knee-deep, and in others the floor of the cave seems to drop away to no known depth.

The smell is that of bone cracked black by fire, and of throats choked by starry pearls.
