The fish congregate in schools. Their silvery scales glean when the moon is full, or the light of land-dwelling eyes falls upon it. Their sheen reminds you of unburnt wood, or cold stone walls, or the feeling of glass on your lips. Each one in the school is different, their scales like fingerprints. So adoring their small eyes seem, but when you are gone, you wonder what creatures in this world name these fish “leviathan” and shudder.
